Its a little hard to tell, but its one of those wire fences where the squares are like 4 inches. I can't even tell how he got stuck. It's like he tried to jump thru one of the squares. The more he struggled the worse it got.
So Bruce slowly walked up to the fence, the fawn was scared and kept wiggling and getting even more tangled. A baby fawn crying sounds just like a baby lamb crying (just in case you were wondering)
The one thing we wished we would have had was a pair of wire cutters, because that fawn was really tangled up in that fence. The whole time Bruce is helping the fawn, the mama deer was getting very upset, she was just sure Bruce was hurting her little baby.
She was snorting, and charging the fence, kicking her hooves in the air. I have never seen a Deer act like that. Watching was a little scary. So every few minutes Bruce would stand up just in case mama deer made it over the fence and charged him, he could make a run for it.
Bruce hollered over and asked if "I was going to get out and help him instead of sitting there taking pictures?" . I hollered back "No Way, I'm a huge coward, I will stay right here in the truck where it's safe, cause that mama deer does not look happy. And besides why should both of us make her mad!"
Bruce finally got him free enough that he could wriggle through, and catch up to his mama.
I'd like to think that the mama deer turned around, gave us a look to let us know she was grateful to us for helping out her baby.
.
Hun your the best!!!
