Heber Valley Railroad

For Erin's Graduation Present we gave her a weekend in Heber, and a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad, Formaly known as the "Heber Creeper'. It was a ton of Fun and Erin loved it.

Here she is ready to board....and of course she has her "Bag' with all her "Stuff" in it. On this trip it was her MP3 and some taffy, oh yes and a can of Pepsi.

And we're off. They had 2 cars that were enclosed and 2 that were open.
On the way down the canyon, we chose the enclosed, because we thought for sure it was going to rain.

15 minutes into our trip the train was pulled over by train robbers....

They boarded the train and made us all put our hands in the air.....I was a little worried that Erin might be scared because they had very loud guns, and bandanas on their faces...

But we worried for nothing. She couldn't stop laughing. She thought it was hilarious.

They even took hostages.....

Then they got on their horses and left. The whole time Erin just couldn't stop laughing. It was more fun watching her reaction than the train robbers!

The scenery was absolutely beautiful. From Deer lake, Provo Canyon, Provo River all the way down to Vivian park. And the train goes just the right speed so you can take pictures.

If anyone is looking for a fun way to spend a couple hours (actually it was 3 hours) this is the trip to take. But I would recommend the open train cars. You can see way more. Just a warning though beware of the soot from the coal engine, it gets all over everything.
