South Eastern Utah...

We took a small mini vacation to Moab.
I remember going to Moab when I was younger, but Bruce and i had never been to Moab together. So for Erin's Spring Break we decided to head south...(where we were hoping it might be a little warmer)

This is how it looked when we left, not exactly fun going threw Spanish Fork Canyon in a white out!

And this is how it looked when we arrived...not to much warmer, but there was NO SNOW...so it was awesome!

We stayed at the Red Cliff Lodge....I highly recommend it. It is a litttle ways away from Moab but we stayed right on the Colorado River.

This was the view on the back patio, it was so beautiful.

And of course there were horses on the property....we asked the owner if Erin could feed the horses some carrots. He said absolutely and he would even help us with Erin if she wanted to go for a ride around the arena on one of the horses. We tried to talk Erin into riding, but she was happy to just sit and watch, and feed them carrots.

Believe it or not we hiked up a hillside to get this picture, even Erin hiked. She was a real trooper, I am so proud of her. She only complained a little in the beginning.

Here is part of the trail, everytime you rounded a corner, there was more stairs, or more trail....if I would have read the trail guide before we left it would have told us (me) that it was a mile, and the terrain was rocky. A lesson learned

Here she is coming down with help from Dad.

This is the Colorado River coming down Hwy 128. It was a Great trip and we will do it again, but we might wait until end of April, when it is a little warmer. I took over 200 pictures, so i will post some every now and then.

Soccer....

The weather was pretty warm over the weekend...so we were outside. And for some reason a ball game of some kind always gets started....today it was soccer.

I don't think Brandon liked the way Mandy was playing so he picked her up and hauled her off the field.

Wear your Sunscreen.....

Here is my Sweet Sweet Hubby....He works outside for a living. And there for is always in the sun.
But every six months he has to visit the Dermatologist. Because when he was younger, he failed to wear sunscreen..... So now he has to have pre-skin cancer (or any mysterious looking stuff) frozen off!.... all over his face, hands, arms, shoulders, and back. It is very painful.

The following are some pictures of what my Sweet Hubby looks like when he comes home from the doctor....
Both hands look like this, the bad thing is they start to blister....

His face usually gets the most places frozen off.....even his poor ears and neck. Bruce did give me permission to take pictures and post them.
Because he wants our BOYS
( B,J,N,) to always remember to wear their SUNSCREEN!

I just love this "Honey Bun"

The New Kitchen.

We are finally done with the kitchen. Actually the kitchen itself only took about a week, but all the other stuff (tile, lighting, etc) took a little longer. We actually just put in the mini pendants above the island a few days ago. We went to 3 lighting stores, looked through showrooms & catalogs, and finally on a suggestion from Jason went to Lowes. And thats where I found my great pendants! Should have started there to begin with. We still have a few small things to do, but its 99% done.

I am posting a few before pictures just so you can see the difference. We also had to re-do the Big Room, it needed new windows & carpet, it still had the same carpet from when it was built in 1987.

Heres the Kitchen before...just not enough cuboards or counter space.

And here is the New Kitchen!

I love this kitchen. I now have enough cupboard space (plus extra) for all my junk. There is also alot more counter space. Having the island makes it so much easier. I found these swivel barstools brand new on KSL for a great deal. I get teased alot for being a cheapskate....but it usually pays off.

The before picture of the Big Room.

Heres the new windows....the cool thing about them is that both windows slide and the screen slides too, making it really easy to clean.

And here is the after. We divided the room up and tiled a 1/3 of it to put a table out there, and carpeted the rest of it. The table is another great find from KSL it expands to seat 12 people. Just right when everyone is here for holidays or birthday dinners.
